Between 1 and 5 for each, so up to a 5×5 grid (25 pieces). The preview overlays grid lines on your uploaded photo so you can see exactly where each cut will fall before splitting.
Does splitting the image lose any quality?
No - each piece is drawn directly from your original full-resolution image using the Canvas API, so no extra compression or resizing is applied beyond exporting as PNG.
