How to Create a Signature

What's the difference between this and Fixora's PDF Signer?
This tool creates a standalone signature image file you can download and reuse anywhere - in an email signature, a Word document, or uploaded into other apps. The PDF Signer instead places a signature directly onto a specific PDF page and outputs a signed PDF. Use this tool first if you just want a reusable signature image.
Is the downloaded PNG really transparent, or does it have a white background?
It's genuinely transparent. The canvas is never filled with a background color before your strokes or text are drawn, so canvas.toDataURL("image/png") exports only the ink or text pixels with everything else at zero alpha - it will look correct pasted onto any background color.
Should I draw my signature or type it?
Drawing with your mouse, trackpad, or finger gives a more personal, handwritten look closer to your real signature. Typing renders your name in a cursive webfont, which looks clean and consistent but won't match your actual handwriting - pick whichever suits your use case.
Can I change the color or thickness of my signature?
Yes. In Draw mode, use the pen color picker and thickness slider before you start drawing. In Type mode, use the color picker and font-size slider, which update the rendered text live.
Is this a legally binding electronic signature?
No - this produces a visual image of a signature, similar to signing on paper and scanning it in. It doesn't provide the cryptographic verification or audit trail that dedicated e-signature services offer for legally binding contracts.
