Frequently Asked Questions
What image formats can I combine into a GIF?
Any image format your browser can display — JPG, PNG, WebP, and more. Each image is drawn onto a canvas before being added as a frame, so the source formats can even be mixed within the same GIF.
How is the GIF's final width and height decided?
The output canvas matches the dimensions of the first image you upload. Every other image is center-cropped to fill that same frame size without stretching or distorting it, the same way CSS object-fit: cover works.
Why does generating a GIF take a while, or produce a large file?
GIF encoding is genuinely processor-intensive and runs entirely in your browser using a Web Worker, so nothing is uploaded anywhere. More frames, larger dimensions, or a higher quality setting all increase both the encoding time and the resulting file size.
Does the GIF loop forever, or play once?
By default it loops forever, which is standard behavior for GIFs on the web. Turn off the loop toggle before generating if you want it to play through once and then stop on the final frame.
