How is this different from the PDF to JPG tool?

What resolution are the PNG images?
Each page renders at 2x scale before being exported, so a standard Letter/A4 page comes out around 1600-1700px wide — sharp enough for zooming in on fine text or printing.
Why are my PNG files so much bigger than the JPGs from the other tool?
PNG doesn't use lossy compression the way JPEG does, so there's no quality-vs-size tradeoff to make — every pixel is preserved exactly, which naturally produces a larger file, especially for pages with photos or gradients.
Does the background stay transparent?
No — each page is drawn onto a white-filled canvas before export, so PNGs always have a solid white background rather than transparency, even though PNG as a format supports it.
