Image Flip / Mirror & Rotate
Mirror an image horizontally or vertically, combine it with 90°/180°/270° rotation, and batch-process multiple images at once — no quality loss.
How to Flip, Mirror, or Rotate an Image
- Click the upload area or drag in one or more JPG, PNG, or WebP images — select multiple files at once to batch process.
- Click "Flip Horizontal" to mirror left-to-right, or "Flip Vertical" to mirror top-to-bottom — you can combine both.
- Use "Rotate Left 90°", "Rotate Right 90°", or "Rotate 180°" alongside any flip — rotating by 90° or 270° automatically resizes the canvas to fit. "Reset All" clears both flip and rotation.
- With a single image, use "Show Original" to compare against your untouched upload before downloading.
- Pick an Output Format (Match Original, PNG, or JPEG) — choosing JPEG reveals a Quality slider.
- Click "Download Flipped Image" for a single file, or the "Download" button next to each result in batch mode.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I flip and rotate an image at the same time?
Yes. Flip Horizontal, Flip Vertical, and the 90°/180°/270° rotate buttons all apply together - for example, flipping horizontally then rotating 90° right produces a single combined result, not two separate steps you'd have to redo.
Does rotating or flipping change the image dimensions?
Rotating by 90° or 270° swaps the width and height, so a 1200x800 photo becomes 800x1200 - the canvas automatically resizes to match. A 180° rotation and both flip directions keep the original width and height unchanged, since they mirror or invert pixels without turning the rectangle on its side.
Can I flip or rotate multiple images at once?
Yes. Select or drag in more than one image and the same flip/rotate settings apply to all of them together, with each result listed separately with its own thumbnail and Download button. There's no single ZIP download - each processed image downloads individually.
Can I choose the output format instead of matching my original?
Yes. The Output Format dropdown lets you keep the original format (the default - JPG stays JPG, WebP stays WebP, anything else exports as PNG), or force PNG or JPEG regardless of what you uploaded. Choosing JPEG reveals a Quality slider from 40% to 100% so you can balance file size against visual quality; JPEG output always gets a white background since JPEG can't store transparency, while PNG and WebP keep any transparent areas intact.
Can I compare the result with my original image before downloading?
Yes. Use the "Show Original" toggle above the preview to switch between your untouched upload and the current flipped/rotated result, so you can check the change before downloading. It's available whenever you're working with a single image.
Does flipping or rotating lose any image quality?
Flipping and rotating in exact 90° steps doesn't blur or resample any pixels - the tool just redraws the canvas with the pixels rearranged. If your output format is JPEG or WebP (whether matched from your upload or chosen manually), the download is re-encoded at your selected Quality setting (92% by default), the same minor compression step any canvas-based JPEG/WebP save involves.
Is this processed on a server or in my browser?
Entirely in your browser. The tool uses the Canvas API's rotate and scale transforms to flip and rotate the image locally, including in batch mode - nothing is ever uploaded to a server.
