Yes — since the list lives in your browser's local storage, clearing your browsing data, using a private/incognito window, or switching browsers will not carry your saved tasks with it.
Is there a limit to how many tasks I can add?
There's no hard limit built into this tool, though browsers generally cap local storage at several megabytes per site, which is far more than enough for a practical task list.
Is my task list ever sent to a server?
